It all started a few months ago. I was having problems with the computer, so
I ran a diagnostic tool(F2 on bootup). It showed multiple sectors corrupted.
With the copy of windows that came with the computer, I was having issues,
one of which is files disappearing(such as mspaint, calc, etc).

I have a fresh copy of windows, and it persists... I lost MSPaint, and I
lost calc 2 days after install(which was about 1.5 months ago)

You need to run the hard disk manufacturers checking utility, available from
their web site.

If you have hd problems, and it sounds like you have, you are wasting your
time trying to install anything.
If you dont have data backups now is the time to do them, before your disk
becomes unrecoverable.
