HD Soace cut in half!!

Hi

I am running XP Home SP2 on a laptop with 40GB HD.

Recently i deleted my linux partition to just use windows. After that
windows booted fine.

I then used gparted live to resize the C: drive with the unallocated
space from linux

When Gparted was resizing the C: drive near the end of the process it
encountered an error. It returned to the main screen with all of the
space onto the C: drive.

When i go into my computer and check the drive it only says that the
space is 15gb when it is meant to be around 37. The linux space has
dissappeared.

Now it will not let me resize or partition. I have tried partition
magic and gparted.

HELP!! I dont know where the space has gone

thanks in advance

Why don't you try Disk Director. It can restore lost partitions and h
space. You just need to make one more partition using unallocated spac
on a disk. Then you should split partitions. Hope it helps

Thanks but disc director isn't free.

I do however have partition magic 8. It says that the drive is what it
is supposed to be (approx 37GB). And so does any other partitioning
software.

Is it just xp that is getting the drive info wrong?

Locate the program file PartInNT. You should find it in the install
folder of Partition Magic. Otherwise you can get it here-
ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/tools/pq/utilities/PartInNT.zip

Run and click the "Copy to Clipboard" button. Paste to a reply to
this message.
