HD Crash

Hi,
I need to change my HD and was wondering how to re-register my Vista so that
MS will not think I'm installing it in another box.
TIA

I don't think the new disk will constitute a new box with MS. I think it's 4
or 5 component differences that trigger it.

Change your HD? - what has that to do with 'HD Crash'? - or are you
saying that your system is unrecoverable because of an HD crash?....
if that's the case, then the chances are that when it comes to
activation, either you will go through without any problems, or you'll
be directed to phone the local board for the activation code.... only if
that fails will you be asked to explain why you are activating for a
second/third/whatever time - and it then depends on whether they believe
your tale f woe re: the HD crash.

Hi Ray,

Reregistering is not necessary, you will only need to activate the new
installation. Just change the drive and reinstall, call in activation if
needed. You are well within the bounds of the license use.
