Have to press Power button to return from Stand by, why?

Recently, when I put or when the computer automatically goes into Stand By
mode, the keyboard won't respond. I have to press the power button to return
to normal mode. Has this happened to anybody else?

What you are descriving does not sound like "standby" ... basicly there is a
feature of the video card that shuts down the monitor to save power ... this
is the standby mode that can be revived with a mouse click or key punch.

The sympots you are describing sound like a hybernation mode ... this is
where the OS actualy closes its main processes. This is only revived with the
power button. I would consult the power management pannel ... you may be able
to configure the setting slightly differently.
