i comcast cable internet going to my linksys wireless router. i have tried
both wired and wireless (both get great internet connection) but i can't
connect to my network. I used to be connected with no problem but for a week
now it shows "wireless networks are availible", I go to connect and it shows
I'm already connected. I can't figure out why it says I'm "connected" but
doesn't show that I'm on a network. Any ideas??

I probably didn't explain it well, this is my first time posting anything.
I looked on my router for the IP table and tried to ping the IPs that
were not my computer but they did not ping. 100% packet loss. I'll try to
explain it better....I have the little globe by my clock and I have internet
on all of my devices on my network. By network I mean 1 computer is always
on, 1 other computer is on rarely, and 2 gameing consoles. When I place my
cursor over that globe icon it says "wireless networks available" and "Not
connected". I go to where I can connect to my wireless network and it says
i'm connected. On the "network and sharing center" it shows "not connected"
and nothing on the top (like my computer with a green line to the router icon
and a green line to the globe.)
This probably didn't explain it any better but I'm not great with
comps. Thanks again for any suggestions.

Hello,

I had a client with a similar problem this past week. Turns out she
was connected to an unsecure network located close to her office. Once
I connected to her own wireless (secured) network, all was okay.

This may or may not be your problem.

HTH,

Buck
