Have I Lost My Files? "Access Denied"

I have a PC issue that I can't figure out.
My PC would'nt open due to a corrupt win32 file and I
tried a Non-Destructive restore, NG, Tried again but
still could not open the PC.
Tech support suggested that I perform a "System Recovery"
W/O formatting. I did so and my files were stored
in "Back-Up".
PC opened fine but my personal files won't open due to a
password issue and I get an "Access Denied" message. I've
tried everything (including the password) to get them
open but I can't.
Is there any way that you know of for me to open these
files or have I lost them forever?

You may be able to "take ownership" of the inaccessible folders. Log on
with an administrator account, then browse to the folder and right click
it. Choose Properties, then the Security tab, then click the Advanced
button. Change the owner of the folder to your account name.
