Google Desktop, Lotus Notes... I dunno. Is that your environment?

I did a Google search on part of your message and based on all the .UK
URLS I saw, this seems to be a big problem in the UK. Are you in the
UK?

Some of the results I followed resulted in a happy ending, but this is
far from my environment.

Do some Googlin' on stuff like:

g_socket_data.Lookup
and
capture\lsp\nolsp\wsp_patches

LSP = Layered Service Provider

Someone injected their handler (a program) into your TCP stack (aka
Winsock).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Layered_service_provider

If you didn't install a firewall, anti-virus, anti-malware, or other
security product that interrogates your web traffic, you have malware.
So start inventorying what security software you installed to see if one
of the good programs has gone bad.

You didn't happen to install some unnecessary garbage suite from your
ISP, did you?
