hardware malfunction

dear all, i have this question whcih have been bothering
me for some time. presently, i am using windows 2000.
however, sometime it tends to hang and prompt me a
message "hardware malfunction" please contact the
manufacturer vendor. i have read some articles on this
issue but their problems were faced when booting up the
computer while mine was after the boot up. for your info,
i used to use win 98 as my previous OS but that does not
gine me any problem. please kindly guide me!!!! thanks

Was this an upgrade installation of win2k or a clean install?
Does the err msg indicate specific hardware?
The msg seems to indicate a hardware driver problem
Have you checked that yr hardware is using win2k drivers?

It might be an overheated CPU or a microcrack in the motherboard.
