Harddrive needs replacement

My harddrive failed and I need to put in another one.
With the authentication process required by Microsoft how
do I reload XP and then re authneticate it on the new
drive?

Install, and activate normally if it has been more than 120
days since you first installed XP. If there is any problem,
you'll be given a telephone number to call.

Just re-install from your original Cd and aactivate the new install.
