My friends downloaded some files from a p2p file sharing program and one file
was supposed to be a video but will not play and when you right click on it
you can't see the delete or even properties buttons. I tried to drag it to
the recycle bin and tried to delete it in safe mode and even tried killbox to
delete the file but for some reason this 140 MB file will not budge, now I've
used up to date anti-virus software and it said nothings wrong with the file
but i'm still a little worried and would rather just not have it on my
computer any help will be appreciated.

Hi,
Try this Tools to delete the files and folders you want from your OS:
http://www.ccleaner.com
Double Click on it and Run it you will see the file Path and Name there
Select it and if you have Temp files you want to delete select it also and
Click Ok.
Please let us know if did the trick for you.
Regards

Hi Mouth662,

The file you're trying to delete could be in use by the p2p program. Try
quiting the program, exit from system tray loaded programs (related to the
p2p program if there are any), stoping services related to the program and
killing any processes related to the program, then try deleting again.

Regards,

John.

Well i tried the program and ran it and it didn't work then i read a reply
you wrote to someone else with a similar issue a few days ago and you told
him to try to pinpoint the file itself and he said it worked but when i tried
to do that it told me the file name is invalid, i think i'm doing the wrong
thing, i went to options custom and add file and it couldn't add it. So I may
be doing the wrong thing...can you let me know if that is what you meant by
pinpointing the file or if theres something else that i missed. if not i'll
have to try jeetmans suggestion.

My two-cents: Try using the"Utility for Deleting Invalid Files",
DelinvFile.exe, which can be downloaded (free) from
http://www.purgeie.com/delinv/index.htm
I have used it earlier for problems very similar to yours, and it
worked.
