Hard drives

After I installed all the new updates for windows xp home
my computer dosen't reconize my second (backup ) hard
drive. The BIOS says its not installed. Also windows xp
operated very slow now.
 
Rt click on MyComputer>Select Properties>Hardware>Device Manager. Select
IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers and rt
click on Primary or Secondary whichever has the second hard drive. Choose
Uninstall. Let WinXP reinstall the Controller.
