When I got my HP Pavilion zd8080 about six months ago it came with
a Fujitsu MHU2100AT hard drive (100gb)...a couple of months later when I ran
a check with BeLarc Advisor it now says that I have a Toshiba MK3021GAS hard
drive with only 30gb...the computer hasn't been out of my possession. How
does that happen and what can I do to get the 100 gb HD back?

Free space 12.9, total size 26.4...and when I hit properties it's formated as
NFTS, with used 13.4 free 12.9 and capcy of 28.4....

what about disk management? does it show correctly in there?
also look at the bios to see if it's seeing the correct size

Those are different makes of drive apart from the size. Take the drive out
and write down the information on it- see what you *really* have before you
go chasing after something you may not have.

Are you sure it came with the larger drive? Did you run a check on it
when you first got it to see?

I checked my original invoice and it said it had a 100gb hard-drive and sure
enough right after I purchased it, I ran BeLarc and it said that I had the
100gb Fujitsu. While going thru the paperwork, I was reminded that I had
to take it back to the dealer about three months after I purchased it to have
a virus removed and they kept it for several days and saved all of my files
to a disk while they reformatted the hard drive. When I got it back, a
couple of months later I ran another BeLarc and discovered that I only had a
30gb hard-drive. I was getting "low system resources" which is why I checked
it. When I run the disk management it confirms that I only have a 30gb
Toshiba. My next step is to take it back to Fryes and confront the service
manager with the facts and see if he has an explanation. Fortunately, I
bought the service contract from Fryes when I bought the computer.
