Hard Drive utilities?

I have a hard drive with some bad sectors. Because it's a Toshiba hard
drive there are not any tools available from the manufacturer. Dos'
Scandisk for some reason will not scan C:. I am looking for a freeware,
third party diagnostic and repair tool (Dos or self booting).

program here:

The above link will allow you to download a zip file. It unzips to an iso
file that can be burned onto a CD.

You should know that Hiren's Boot CD is an illegal product - it
contains numerous commercial utilities distributed without permission.

I have a copy, of course, because I wanted to see it and potentially
use it as a last resort item, but I don't see too much real need for
it with things like Bart's PE and Ultimate Windows Boot CD around.
