hard drive space not released after deleted a file

I deleted a folder(of size >1.5GB) using Shift+delete,
however, the hard drive space is not released after.
I tried running scan disk, but didn't work.
When I look at the drive properties, it has the following
info:
capacity: 22.1 GB, used space: 20.2 GB. (which is
incorrect).
If I select all the files in the drive, and right click
for properties, the size is 18.3GB (which is correct)
(I have selected "show hidden files and folder", so that's
including the hidden files)

What's wrong and How can I get that space back?

Have you emtied the trash can? If not the folder/files were just transfered
to it.

My recycled bin is empty. I used Shift+delete
