CARMAN HERE. NEEDS HELP. THANKS

Tell me if I am waisting my time or if there is a solution for this. I am
running windows XP Home (SP2) at a home PC. I have 3 hard drives. I know that
i have a bunch of dupicates on 2 of the drives, "D and E" What I did was use
"Acrinis true Image" to copy everything from one drive and put it on another.
E to D. I formated E. I would like to see if I have any duplicate
files/folders/software now on D that I can delete. Also, is there such a
thing as "putting your hard drive in order"? My backup is at the end of drive
"D" and I know that there are duplicates now on that drive. What would be
some suggestions from everyone? And what would be the best thing to do at
this point? I would like open up the backup and see what and how many dups I
have and clear up my PC. I thank you all for your suggestions and your help.

if you are confident that
you have one functional
o.s., then i would simply
delete the clones and format
those drives like new again.

there are a multitude of
methodologies in creating
a system of backing up your
data and it is dependent on
the tools, money, time and
expertise.

from my perspective i would
simply suggest to reserve one
disk for backing up your personal
files, docs, pics, emails, faxes,
scanned images, etc., and use
a straight copying method. a
tool like microsofts synctoy is
helpful and convenient and easy.

you personal files might be worth
copying everyday or once a week
or whenever it is convenient. the
synctoy can be scheduled.

then with the other disk you
should simply clone your windows
system folder and the program files.

the system may only need to be
cloned once a month or once every
six months. this would depend
how often you modify the operating
system. however, the system restore
feature usually compensates until you
clone the system in its entirety.

further the restoration of a system clone
would be something like a last resort
anyways because there are other
options available to restore or repair
your windows in the event it crashes.

Your post was confusing - probably because it was a bunch of stuff all
jammed into a single paragraph, making it difficult for some of us
(ME) to read.

You have 3 internal hard drives. I have the same.

One is no doubt the system.

What are the other two used for?

My second IDE drive is a clone of the system drive.

My SATA drive (the third internal) is larger than both of those
combined and is used for various backups.

I also have a fourth drive - USB - for MORE backups, some which
duplicate my SATA drive.
