My Dell 8500 laptop power supply unit failed. I removed the hard driv
and purchased a hard drive enclosure. Then, I hooked it up to my Del
XPS 400 desktop (uses Microsoft Media Center Edition)

I can retrieve many files, however anything associated with th
Windows XP OS (that was on the laptop), to include my Outlook e-mai
files, does not show up when I look for the files

I believe that Windows and Microsoft Office files were partitione
(the files I cannot see) from the other files

Does anyone have advice on how to access these files? I have als
tried booting the hard drive from my USB port, but have receive
errors

Thanks in advance

For your Outlook files search the drive for a file with the .PST
extension (assuming Outlook 2003 or earlier. I am not certain if
Outlook 2007 retains the .PST file extension.

Make note of the location of the file then tell the Outlook installed
on the desktop machine to import the emails from that location.

Good luck
