Does repeatedly formating a drive damage it? Also, if you
format a disk, but it freezes in the middle, and you stop
it, then you restart and format it again, does it damage
anything? If you can answer any questions it would be
great.
Thanks

The disk probably has bad sectors and that is why it stopped.
Stopping does not cause bad sectors or any mechanical problems.
Do you mean that if it freezes it would cause permanent
physical bad sectors, or it just has bad sectors in the
file table and after formating it again successfully, it
will be fine?

well realy your not formatting it, your just telling it that it's been
formatted... you don't wipe all the crud (binary crud) and replace it with
0000000's... that would take hours and also kill ALL info on it thus meaning
the cops couldn't bust you and now i'm waffleing...
