hard drive letter changed

I have two hard drives ... they had been specified as C: and E:

I have two cd/dvd's that I believe had been specified as D: and F:

somehow, hard drive E: is now specified as D: and of course some programs do
not work properly or files are not found. And, the dvd's are now E: and F:

I have no idea how this happened.

If I try to respecify my now hard drive D: ... E is a not a choice because
there is a dvd drive on E: I cannot figure out how to respecify the DVD
drive in order to then specify hard drive D as E

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Change the offending ones to G and H. change the good ones to those letters
now vacated. Change G and H back to where you want them. Etc.
