Hard Drive Blocks Computer

Hi,
We have recently completely resetted our computer with the windows XP
masterdisk, and the problem is that our computers completely freezes the
moment we link our portable harddrive to it. the weirdest part is that our
portable harddrivestill works when we plug it into anothe computer or labtop.
we bought a second harddrive, and that works on the othe pc too, but not on
the freezing pc. kinda sucks.

After you reinstalled Windows, did you remember to install the motherboard
utilities?

Yes, we installed everything we have. weve done this before, and it usually
works.
