Hi,

Some people kindly posted some useful tools to repair a
hard drive partition information. A tool that was a free
download repair deleted partition or files or repair MBR,
etc. I can`t find the post, if anyone knows of that tool,
can you please reply. THank you.

Did you find the tool you were searching for. If so this
may help me as I have just upgraded to XP SP2 and my
machine won't boot. It get's part way through and then
reboots itself. I booted from a DOS diskette but can't
see the drive as it's NTFS.

Any thoughts

Hi,

Not yet, I saw it in General for Windows XP, just too many
pages to search through. Someone suggested a very good
tool, but for the life of me, I can`t remember what and
where it was. I actually need it for a ME machine, not
XP, the two systems I installed SP2 on are working like a
charm, it actually fixed some problems on my one XP system.

I think you are probably thinking of MBRWORK in the free downloads at
www.bootitng.com

That allows you to put it on a DOS startup floppy, boot and run. If
you delete the existing MBR (and EMBR if any) you can then use its
option (A) to rebuild the partition table by searching the disk for
signatures of partitions

Hi Alex,

That`s the one I was looking for. Thank you very much.
