hard disk error

i had a problem that popped up a few days ago and so i
chose to use the system restore option and everything went
well untill it restarted when it restarted it said hard
disk error and it won't boot windows at all it's stuck in
dos and it gives me the option of either to go to setup or
to use the hp recovery tool and the recovery tool won't
work the setup recognizes the harddrive so i know it is
installed correctly but the thing won't boot up

Have you tried running the setup, whatever that does? With an HP your
options are pretty limited.

yah i did try to go to setup it said everything was fine there but it still won't boot
