Hard delete task

I'm not sure if this is an Outlook issue or Exchange. I have a user who
sends out a task to another individual who updates the task. The updated
task is sent back to the originator where it is updated on the workstation
but not on the users Blackberry device. We called RIM to see if there was
something that needed to be done on the Blackberry server, but they are
indicating that the task is not being updated because the task, which does no
appear in the deleted items fold, is automatically being hard deleted as
opposed to a soft delete where it would show in the deleted items folder. I
have done some searches and I have found nothing in regards to changing this
setting if it is possible. Any one have any ideas?

deleted? The Task is not being Deleted, it's being updated!

Here's what I understand happens.

If the manager assigns a Task and leaves the check boxes on about "keep an
updated copy on my Task list" and " send an update when completed bla bla"
this should happen:

The subordinate accepts it and later completes it.
The manager gets a Task Update and a Task Completed notification back from
their subordinate, they open it. Then they close it. That email
dissappears. Their copy of the Task is now updated to show it's complete.

So if they look at the task on a synchronised device, its status should be
correct.

I hope this helps you at least a little bit!
