I have been infected with some sort of virus. I am totally unsure as to what it is, however under Dial Up Connections a connection known as "Happy" is shown. The only connection I use is a wireless one. This has also made me unable to change my homepage. What can I do?

Delete the dial up connection, update your anti-virus software's virus
definition file and run a complete system scan. Also, get SpyBot's Search &
Destroy (http://www.safer-networking.org/)to remove spyware and Ad-Aware
(http://www.lavasoftusa.com/) to remove AdWare.

Did you use the spyware software below? Do you have up to date anti-virus
software that has run a complete system scan? Did you run the adware
software below? Did you go to windowsupdate.com and download all the latest
security patches?

This is how you clean your system of malicious software and keep it clean.

Yes, I installed and ran it. Where can I get up to date Antivirus software? I have ran all of mine. I updated Windows security patches. The big problem is I can't delete the Dial -up connection "Happy" Also when I start up a window pops up, and an icon "Click here!" shows up on my desktop, even after I delete it.

Symantec.com or McAfee.com to purchase good anti-virus software. Might even
be able to do an online scan for free.

I'll do that. When I try to delete the dial-up connection, it comes back.

You could also do CTRL & ALT & DEL and then bring up the task list to see
what processes are running (this does require that you know what should be
running in the first place). You could look for anything suspicious, shut
it down and try to delete the DUN icon again, if it doesn't come back after
shutting a process down, you've found the culprit.

I really don't know what processes are regular.

Anyways, I ran AVG virus scan and I found them. They were Dialer trojans. Thanks for your help. Turns out my McAfee was outdated.

Glad to help. Keep those virus definitions up to date and get a good
firewall product to stay "clean".
