Hanging at installation......

The installation of Active Directory is hanging at
the "Updating shortcuts to the active directory
administrative tool" stage. Does anyone know how to
remedy this? It just keeps writing

Take a look at the "dcpromoui.log" under \winnt\debug and do a search for
'shortuct' or look at the end of the log.
Also take a look at the event viewer to see if it offers any clue.
