Hang on Welcome Screen

Hello,

Sometimes, when I turn on my computer, WXP hangs on the
Welcome screen. I have to press enter to get past it or
wait for a few minutes for the desktop to load. Is there
any way to make the computer get past the screen faster?

Assuming you have a retail version of XP as opposed to a manufacturer's
recovery disk or partition, at the XP desktop place the XP CD in the drive,
when the setup screen appears, choose "Check System Compatibility." This
operation may reveal something on your setup that might be the source of the
issue.
