***HALO POOR RESOLUTION***

I'm having Problems with My HALO scince I instaled it... From the First time
it was VERY SLOW and the only way I have been able To play is with
RESOLUTION 640x480 and DETAIL LOW + NO Decals + NO Shadows +EVERYTHING
LOW... And it should NOT be that way cause the PC is New and it came with a
NVIDIA FX-5200 with the last Updates already instaled, My DIRECT-X is
Updated with the one that comes within the HALO CD =(DX 9), the Dirvers of
the NVIDIA All Were installed but even so, NOTHING... (((Also it happend
with the DEMO of DEUX-EX 2)))
- Any Suggestion of how to solve something like this?
- It is Perhaps the fact that NVIDIA- FX5200 is NON ULTRA version?
- Should I change my VIDEO CARD to a RADEON?

I thank ALL the Possible information!

Is it a regular 5200 or a 5200 Ultra? The 5200 Ultra has a core clock (325)
and memory clock (650) speed that's a little faster than the previous
generation's Geforce 4 Ti4600 which ran at 300 Mhz core and 600 Mhz memory.
The regular 5200 is a much slower part running at 250 Mhz and memory speeds
between 266-350 Mhz. The memory speed makes a big difference. I've seen a
Geforce 3 Ti 200 clocked at 175 core / 400 memory beat a 5200 clocked at 250
core / 266 memory on some benchmarks because of memory bandwidth
limitations.

After seeing this post, I can EASILY say it's your video
card.

I too own a FX 5200 (non-ultra).

Here are my system specs:
P4 3.2 GHz 800MHz FSB, 512K cache, HT
Dual Western Digital Raptor 74 gig HDs on a RAID 0 array
1024 MB Ultra PC3200 Dual-Channel DDR RAM
And the good old NVidia GeForce FX5200 AGP.

Halo runs like crap, along with graphic's lag in other
games as well. In halo I have to turn all the settings
way down, along with other graphics intensive games.
There is a serious bottleneck in my system that HAS to be
the video card.

Ditch the 5200. I'm going to.
