Half days

I am a physician in a medical group that is new to Access (using 2002. I
am attempting to automate our vacation/sick (PTO) time requests and
accounting methods. Our group runs Microsoft Exchange Server 2000. I
have recreated a form in Outlook that I plan to have the physicians
request their vacation time off. If possible I would like to keep track
of the days that are approved time off (as well as sick days, jury duty,
etc.)on Access. One problem I am faced with is:

How to set up tables and expressions to deal with calculating amounts of
time off. Most, but not all of the physicians have one half day off a
week and we keep track of days off in terms of "half days off"
(therefore a full day off = 2 half days off). Therefore, if someone
wants the week of December 8th to December 12th off, and their half day
is Wednesday afternoon...how do you calculate the amount of half days
off. Also how should one set up in a table to store which half day is
off and how would you represent it.

Good afternoon

An excellent example on how this can be done has been written by a associate,
namely Ken Sheridan, Stafford, England. If you wish I can send you a copy of
this.
