Hal.dll damaged

Help please,
I have a multi boot HD with w2k (domain controller) and xp installed,
usually I boot from xp for daily working, today I've try to boot from w2k
but it didn't allow me to do so, the error msg about "hall.dll damaged need
ti replace and restart, I've tried safemode, last good startup, but it just
pop up the above msg, I try reinstall the file from CD by use recovery
console, but it didn't help,
please give me some of tips, thanks very much.

It should be possible to copy the hal.dll to the \winnt\system32\ when you
have booted from xp, if you have installed a service pack since it the
Windows 2000 was installed then you will need to replace the Hal.dll from
the SP you can extract the files from the service pack by using the
W2KSP4_EN.EXE -x.
