I was wondering if this is a virus and if so what does it do. Last
night my friend went into the add/remove program tool to uninstal a
program. At this time he noticed a new program that he had not
instaled. It is called "Hackerspider SE". When he tried to remove it
a box poped up that said "if you remove this program the divice will
no longer work properly." So we stoped the remove process and did a
file search on the computer and have been unable to find the program
anywhere on the computer.
I am searching the web trying to find any information I can on this
program but have only been able to come up with one hit where the
information was in english and not a warez type page. This was
http://www.safersite.com/PestInfo/db/h/hackerspider_dialer.asp. This
site says that it is a trojan that will dial toll numbers without you
knowing. But it did not say how to get rid of it, but there was a
download invoved(which I did not do). I can't find any information
about this on any sites like Norton.
This said does anyone know what this program is and how to get rid of
it. Any help would be apreciated, as I will admit that my knowledge
of virus programs is limited. Hehe, I don't even really know what a
Trojan Virus is.
