if i try to run my registry editor i keep getting a error
message telling me that registry editing has been
disabled by your administrato.i suspect this was the work
of a hacker as i have found an anonymous logon to my user
account on a log file.how do i re-enable my regedit can
anybody help me???

Access to the registry editor is removed by parasites in the
Group Policy Editor but sometimes this is also disabled along
with the Registry Editor and the Taskmanager... If you have access,
enable the registry editor and taskmanager in; Start\Run\gpedit.msc\
user configuration\administrative templates\system\"prevent access
to registry edition tools" [set to not configured]...
Enable taskmanager in ctrl+alt+del options

If you have no access to group policy editor, install the following
spyware removers;
Install the first two and after that install the rest as/if needed.

thank you for your reply as i found it most useful as i
am using windows xp home i was unfortunatly not able to
access the group policies command parameters but have use
the link www.lavasoft.de and used there spyware removal
tool and have since found that it was a program called
smsSPY which was a pain to remove but lavasoft adaware
solved my problem and im now able to access my registry
editor again
