GUI error on Vista boot-up

Just built a new system and am getting an error consistently on boot.

Error Message: "The procedure entry point ?CheckGEST@@YAHXZ could not be
located in the dynamic link library work.dll".

....followed by a window that says "GUI MFC Application has stopped working".

Running Norton anti-virus and Spyware Doctor and have swept system believing
it may be an intrusion, but at this point I'm thinking hardware config or
driver issue.

Anyone have a direction to point me?

System Specs: Intel Core 2 Duo E6850, Gigabit GA-P35-DS4 Motherboard, XFX
GeForce 8600GTS Video Card, 2GB Kingston HyperX, no RAID.

i'm getting the exact same error: "GUI MFC Application has stopped
working..." i've tried the repair suggestion and it found nothing. Also
what are you suggesting in regards to the video card (as i suspected that as
my culprit)? i get a code 43 on my video card's driver in device manager.
But seeing ho its the correct driver and installed correctly (as to the best
of my knowledge) i don't know what to do... i also don't know if my GUI MFC
app is the root cause or if its the device driver.
any ideas would be much appreciated.
