Grouping query results by month

I need to be able to do a count of various options in one field, grouped by
month in another (date) field (i.e. produce a count of the total number of
referrals--by referral source--grouped by the month in which they were
referred). Can anyone help me out? Thanks much!

Something like this might work for you:

SELECT Count(ReferralSource), Month(YourDateField), ReferralSource
From YourTable
Group By ReferralSource, Month(YourDateField)
