Group query results by month

I need to be able to do a count of various options in one field, grouped by
month in another (date) field (i.e. produce a count of the total number of
referrals--by referral source--grouped by the month they were referred). Can
anyone help me out? Many thanks!

I have not done this for a while so I will be a little vague and if you
need more help ask and I will do some more work on it.

You should be able to do this in a report. Set up the groups as you
need and add a non-visible control to do the count(s) as needed.
