Grouping by Month with Access 2000

Greetings All
I am an Administrator for a church and have recently accepted the additional
responsibility as the Access DB Manager. I have been tasked to design reports
which group members by month for birthdays and wedding anniversaries, etc.,
and then sorted alphabetically within each month group. Using Access reports
I have used the Group/Sort feature to group on the Date of Birth and also to
GroupOn by Month. I have struggled with this for over a week but have not
been successful. I'm missing something very simple no doubt. Can anyone help
me with this? The Date of Birth field is a Date/Time format as a Medium Date.

If you only want to group on the month, regardless of day or
year, then group on the expression:
=Month([Date of Birth])

In the group header text box bound to the Date of Birth
field, use a custom Format like:
mmmm
