hi community..

looks like version 2007 seems confusing to use...???

I am trying to group an Arrow (drawn from Shapes [illustration Group]) with
a picture inserted from external file.
went to the Picture Format or the Drawing Tools Format, both the "Group"
icons was not activated..????????
try using the Draw Convas and tried placing in the picture but not able to
get it inside ????????????

please, can anybody assist me in this...........
(so easy task if in version 2003.........but now.......2007...?????)

thanks community for assistance :)

It seems that Word 2007 requires you to use the Drawing Canvas to be
able to group pictures. To get an existing picture onto a canvas that
you insert later, you can't just drag it; you have to cut it to the
clipboard and paste it into the canvas.

OldLearner,
See what you mean, but you could try this, draw a shape in the drawing
canvas, then select the shape, format tab, shapes styles group, click shape
fill button, choose picture, select it, insert.
This you can group with the arrow. At least it does in the Dutch version.
Same procedure applies if you are not in the drawing canvas.
