Grouped messages

Sorry if this has been ask before I am new to Vista and Windows Mail.
Problem, I received a lot of forwarded mail and must open each and every one
also close each one. I have checked the " Automatically expand grouped
messages" but this seems to do nothing.
Have I not hit the correct button?

This only shows the answers to the same message, if any. I doubt it
is what you want..
