Group the data and calculate the average

Hello:

Would you mind to tell me is it possible to find the average on
every day with the following data?

08/01/2003
09:02:28.1141132
08/01/2003
09:32:28.2181632
08/02/2003
09:32:28.2181432
08/02/2003
19:22:28.2181232
08/03/2003
07:25:28.2181832
08/03/2003
10:12:28.2181532
08/03/2003
21:56:28.2181732
08/03/2003
22:32:28.2181332

A pivot table could do this well enough.

With your data in A1:B9, choose Pivot Table from the Data menu.

1. Data source = Excel list or database, report type = pivot table, click
Next.

2. Select your range on the sheet, click Next.

3a. Click Layout. Drag Date button to row area, drag MB button to data area.
If the latter changes to eg: sum of MB, double-click it and change to
Average. Click OK, OK.

3b. Place the table on existing worksheet, D1. Click Finish.

To group, right-click any of the dates in the table, choose Group &
Outline -- Group. Set the grouping to Days and click OK.
