group text boxes

Michele

I'm using XP, MS Word 2003.

We are currently using Abbyyfine 8.0 and 9.0 to create MS Word files. We
have had to rescan a few pages that were accidently captured as a picture
instead of text. We found the easiest way to maintain page orientation is to
group all the text boxes created by Abbyy and insert them in place of the
picture. There is always an exception to a working rule. The working file
really messes up if we try to import the new file.

We have a handful of Abbyy created documents that will NOT allow us to group
the text boxes together. Any sugguestions as to why this small select group
is being a pain?

Any other suggestions to replace the bad page(s) in the working file with
the new one?

Thanks,

That's the nature of OCR - a dog's breakfast. Nine times out of 10 you are
better off scanning to plain text and applying the required formatting in
Word.

I seem to recall that the 'text boxes' are frames rather than text boxes and
frames are a paragraph formatting parameter.
