Group Policy Registry Wizard 2008 Server

I am running a native 2008 domain and trying to set up some new group
policies for Vista clients. All policies are working well except this new
feature.

I have tried to set a Computer based Group Policy using the new Registry
feature located under Computer Configuration-Preferences-Windows
Settings-Registry.

Regardless if I create the registry item or use the registry wizard...it has
no effect on the client.

At first, Remote Registry service had to be enabled on the Vista Business
client, then I was able to use the wizard. I drilled down and created the
policy. I tried changing it from create, update, replace etc....no impact.

For example, in KB 929852, you can disable IPV6 using a new Registry DWORD
DisabledComponents. I would like to create the key and set the value to
ffffffff.

When I create this key manually on the client it works, so I ruled out the
key being invalid. Even after creating the key, a GP can not effect any
change to it.

Any ideas appreciated.

Hi,

... because you did not install 943729 on all clients
XP/Vista/2003, no clientside extension available f0r 2000.

I stumbled on that update just after I posted yesterday.
I applied the patch, and it is now working.

This may also resolve some of the other new GP features I noticed that were
not working as well. Back to the test lab.... Thanks
