group policy on xp professional

Paul

i have a problem with group policies being applied to users on a xp pro
workstation. up until last week all users were logging on and running
application from a citrix farm. due to the cost of the citrix upgrades and
its limitations we have upgraded the workstations to xp pro or windows 2000
and created group policies.

At present we have two group policies one for domain users and the other for
domain admins. These policies work perfectly on all of the 2000 pro
workstations and servers but not on the xp pro workstations.

Has anybody had a group policy implementation problem such as this, if so
any help would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

I've managed to find a workaround but it is a bit long winded. Just to try
something different i tried the following.

1) logged all users out of their workstations.
2) changed pdc to allow all users to logon.
3) logged a user account into the pdc and recreated the profile
4) logged the user out and got them to log back into their workstation

Hey presto it has picked up the group policy for their account. I then had
to do the same with all the other accounts and everything seems to be
working as it should now. Good job there are only 25 accounts, in previous
jobs i have worked with domains of 1000+ accounts.Wouldn't like to try this
process with a larger domain.

Note: remember to change the pdc back so that domain admins only have logon
rights.
