Group Policy and XP Firewall

Hi all
just set up a new computer had xp installed and then service pack 2
installed at the same time by my local computer shop. Anyways my xp firewall
has been disabled by group policy and i would liek to enable it! how do i go
about doing this??
Also i'm getting a stack of random pop ups when i use any website including
this, ebay etc. I'm using mcafee firewall but things are still coming
through???

Reset the Windows Firewall Policy settings to defaults:

Run these malware cleaners:

1. Ad-Aware

2. SpyBot S&D

3. CWShredder

Update 1 & 2 before running a scan.

Clean-up Windows Startup:

Then, run a full system virus scan with fully updated definitions. Try Trend
Micro's Sysclean package (free), it's capable of eliminating keyloggers,
trojans etc.

If you are using McAfee firewall then that may be the reason you can't use
the Windows firewall. It also sounds like you may have some spyware
installed. What anti-spyware programs have you used?
