Grid problems

Hello. I am copying and pasting objects from one PowerPoint 2003
presentation into another. Problem: the object(s) come into the
target presentation just slightly off the grid. Magnified views show
them just a hairline off. I need everything to be on the grid.

Details:
Both presentations are identical. One was created via "Save As" from
the other.
Copying from A4 page size, pasting into A4 page size.
Grid setting (.083 inches) is identical between the two presentations.

I'm at a total loss as to how to fix this. If anyone could help with
some advice, please do. At my wit's end.

thanks!

Is the 'snap to grid' option turned on? (View...grid and guides...snap
objects to grid)

Does this help?

In addition to the suggestion about Snap to Grid, also check that there's
nothing on your originating slide which is falling off the edge of the
slide. This has caused me alignment problems in the past, as PPT seems to
paste onto the slide itself, not off the edge of the slide.

Actually, nevermind. I just tested that in PPT 2003, and that's no longer
the case. Still holds true for PPT 2000, though.

Are both of your presentations at the same zoom percentage?
