Grid lines

Is there a way to have grid lines show on an excel spreadsheet without
putting the outline on myself, I know its been there before and the outline
looks too dark. Thank you.
 
Presuming you mean the regular gridlines.

Go to Tools > Options > General. Ensure Gridlines is selected. You can also
select the gridline color in the drop-down immediately below.

You may also have manual borders (say, white ones) on your sheet, so you may
need to highlight your cells and select no borders.

Excel 2003...........Tools>Options>View. Tick gridlines

Excel 2007.........Excel Options>Advanced>Display for this worksheet. Tick
gridlines.
