Grayscale Printing Problems

I am using Microsoft Office Powerpoint 2003 SP2 on Windows XP. Whenever we
try to print in black and white to any printer for example our HP LaserJet
4000 TN Series PCL the Grayscale settings are automatically reverting to
Inverse Grayscale and showing up lines where there shouldn't be any around
drawing objects. We have to set the Grayscale settings to Grayscale each
time we open a new version of this document whilst when we print it to any of
our colour printers it comes out fine. It's not easy to track all of these
documents as there are hundreds of copies floating about so is there some way
we could have these settings defaulted to Grayscale for all documents opened
and printed in PowerPoint? Is there a reason this has begun happening in the
last couple of months and is there any easy way to fix this from happening in
the future?

Do you have the ability to install an add-in on all the computers that are
likely to open/print these presentations?

If you are in a managed IT environment, you may want to check if they are
willing to lower the security settings of the machines and install an add-in
on the appropriate computers. The small add-in would simply watch for a
presentation to be opened or created then change the print settings to
Grayscale.
