Hi

In Windows XP Home, my thumbnails in My Picutres are there, but grayed out.
I can still see the picture, but poorly.

Is there a setting I can alter to change these to full colour thumbnails?

Thanks

Barry

Barry,

Or, manually edit the registry and set 'Shell Icon BPP' value to 16:
Display High Color Icons (All Windows) at Registry Guide for Windows:
http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/39/

Use TweakUI - one of the XP Powertoys from (if you have installed XP
SP1)
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

If you have not installed SP1, the earlier version can be found at
http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe

Once installed you will find it in Start - All Programs - Powertoys for
Windows XP

In its Explorer - Thumbnails page, slide the Quality slide left (about
one third from the right seems OK). If the machine tries too high a
quality this greying out results
