Graphs on Forms

I am having a problem getting a graph to display the variables along
the right axes. The graph sits on a form which is linked to a parent
query. The graph's information comes from a separate crosstab query
that is linked to the form via fields from the parent query. The
graph fields are day (horizontal axis), race time (Y-axis) and race
distance (series field). Unfortunately MS Graph automatically plots
the day field as series and the race distance on the X-axis despite
the fact that in the crosstab query, I have assigned 'day' as a column
heading, 'race distance' as a row heading and race time as the value
to express. Somehow it does not seem to allow 'day' to plot on the x-
axis. The day field is in a short date format (i.e. 22/02/08). I have
tried in vain to change the assigned order of fields on my graph but
to no avail. Can anyone help provide a solution to my problem?

Just a quick thought:
Does MS Graph expect dates to be in "American" format mm/dd/yy?
Others might be able to shed a little more light on this.
