Graphics required upside down

To save a little money on hardware, we're looking into running the monitor
upside down. I could explain but I'm not going to.
Has anyone else done this? I've had little luck with ATI cards as changes
are lost on reboot, but apparently SurlySoftwareBloke is demanding 'nVidia
or nothing' anyway. Are there nVidia drivers which allow for running the
screen upside down?

New detonator drivers have it for sure.
