Graphics place holders

John Wilson

Certain graphics, and I don't know how to tell which in web pages only show
as place holders. JPG's are ok. Showing picture does not work and
repairing IE6 does not fix it either. Any eBay page has many of this type
that do not display properly. Any help appreciated,

John.

Right-click one of the graphics, select Properties and you will see
what sort of graphic it is.

They are .cgi files

Try

http://www.ebay.ca/

There is a graphic file 'bug.cgi' (guess it is really a bug!) between the
search field entry and search button near the top right hand corner of the
page. A search for 'bug.cgi' on my system finds nothing.

Thanks, John.

Further to this problem, I am experiencing relatively frequent reboots while
scrolling a window contents when browsing, I think it is time to reload
win98se. It seems to decay with time. I had to reload it last March.

Sorry John,

I see no such graphic on that page.
There is nothing (and no room for anything as I couldn't slide a piece
of paper in that gap) between the search field entry (which says
"Start new search") and the Search button.
I did a View Source and found no mention of .cgi

I tried with IE6 on XP SP2 and IE6 on Win98 SE.
I see the same. No graphic.

Do you have Zone Alarm?
If so, you may find the answer here:

OK. AFAIK, eTrust EZArmor firewall is the Zone Alarm engine, so there
should be similarities.

It's the firewall beyond a doubt, when shut down, no problem. I should have
tried that long ago.
Thanks for your time, John.
