Graphics not displaying correctly...HELP

I have had this problem for a while. Big graphics, no problem. But the tiny
little placeholders are not displaying. The result is a web page 3 times the
size it should be. I get the little white box with the red X in it.

I've already tried resetting the "Show image downloaded placeholders" under
the Advanced Tab on Internet Opions. No luck. Any ideas?

Hi,
A solution for the small GIFs problem:
From http://www.colba.net/~hlebo49/ieimage.htm

From Andreas and Jason
I've fixed the red-x-problem on my pc. Getright (4.5) caused the problem!
This is how to do it: un-install getright.
Delete these two registry keys (the un-install does not do that!)
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\PROTOCOLS\Name-Space Handler\ftp]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\PROTOCOLS\Name-Space Handler\http]

There are many other possible fixes on that page.

Hey Don,

Thanks for the info. Now in English please. Any way you could email me
directly so that we can get in touch via Yahoo Messenger and fix this
problem? I know just enough about my machine to get myself into problems
like this, but not enough to get myself out of them! Or enough to know what
anyone else is talking about when they give me a solution!!

Maybe I misinterpreted and you don't have the problem with very small GIFs
used to correct spacing in tables.

Can you describe in more detail which images don't appear? Maybe post a web
page, such as "Certain images are missing from www.msn.com "

Don,

I think you have it right. To be honest I recognize the problem most in
personalized pages like My Ebay Summary, My Ebay Store, My Yahoo, etc. On
top level home pages not so much.

My problem in correcting this is that I don't know my "registry" from my
head. I need someone to hold my hand through this. I can't offer you much
except my limitless thanks and appreciation. That and $4 will get you a
Starbucks!

Don,

I think you have the right solution, it's just that I don't know my
"registry" from my head. I notice the problem most on My Yahoo, My Ebay
Summary and those kinds of pages I have to login to.

If you have never had GetRight (download manager) installed, you don't have
the registry problem that I suggested.

Let's look at easy things. Go to http://www.fjsmjs.com/IE/redx.htm and look
at the list of other programs which can block images.

And, which version of Windows?

Don,

Here is a link to what I see on My Ebay. See if this helps you understand
my question.

I tried clearing the IE cache and resetting it to 50 MB (it was at 6664
MB). No luck making those little devils appear.

The screen shot helps. I now think that you *may* have the problem with
small GIFs.

What's your version of Windows?

Have you ever had Getright (a download manager) installed?

I have removed the reference to that article. It is irrelevant to the rest of the page.

I have not gotten an answer as to why MS removed the article.

Morbius campaigned hard enough to have it removed? <eg>

You can get a hint about what was in the original article
