Graphics in Word Docs

If my users are not using optimum sized graphics in their docs (Word
2003) is there anyway to reduced the quality of these graphics after
they have been instered in the doc?

Don't worry, Word will reduce the quality of the graphics automatically!

But no ... once the graphic is in the document, there's not much you can do.
